Who doesn’t like to eat? Really!!

Well I love to eat; I enjoy it …although I don’t eat a lot of stuff. I’ve always wanted to be a chef; I don’t know why I didn’t do it. I feel a passion for the kitchen, for cook.

As a result, I like to go to different places to eat. When I want something different I try to go alone, so I can experiment. Tip-If you are going alone, sit at the bar! There you would meet or the bartender (gives you free drinks) or the owners (that happened to me the last week, I went to a Italian restaurant in Dupont Circle… they prepared me a special dinner and even brought me cake and ice cream for my birthday)

Ryan already suggests a few places to eat (main courses), but I’m going to mix it up a little bit with sweet stuff… Dessert!! Life is short, Eat dessert first!

1.) Georgetown Cupcakes- Oh my God, are super yummy! Perfect texture, soft, fresh, with a spectacular frosting. The store is quite small, so expect to be tight. There is only one table with two chairs … so imagine! Depends on the time of day, lines forms to order. But always have a cart with freshly made cupcakes… they do not give you those that are in the shopfront. If you go for the first time, I recommend Red Velvet! It’s just perfect! Not too sweet, but sweet enough!

2.) Curbside Cupcakes- Now, this is quite different… they are a pink mobile Cupcake Truck that delivers to your house or they just appear in different activities (festivals). My favorite is chocolate with peanut butter frosting! The frosting is so buttery; you can eat it just alone! Price range $2.50 if is in a festival, but almost $3.00 if is delivery.

3.) Bar Louie- Is in Chinatown, is like a sport bar…kind of Chilli’s type… but is good. The burgers and sandwiches are just yummy! The French fries are simply delicious, crispy and salty. I order a hamburger with bacon and blue cheese, ketchup and fries….I swear was really good.

3.) The Grill from Ipanema- Is a cozy, dimly lit Brazilian Restaurant at Adams Morgan. Perfect to go in a group or with your love one or you can go and site at the bar yourself. You HAVE TO order “Coxinha de Galinhas” (Croquette stuffed with chicken and cheese) and “Bolinho de Bacalhau” (cold fish croquettes) both served with a spicy sauce. You cannot stop eating them! Price range is $$$. (Check it out, they have happy hour M-F 4:30-7:00pm, Caipirinhas for just $3.95!!!)

Well, I will keep you posted as I keep trying new things. I’m new too in DC, so I accept suggestions of places I should go, that is a must do!

Oh and if by any chance you go to New York, New York.. you should go to Burgers and Cupcakes! ( If you go to the website, their “current physical address” doesn’t work.. I get lost for more than an hour to get to the place. So, the correct address is 9 Street… between the 34 and 35. Or you can use the phone number that appear in the page ( that’s what I do) Is complicated, but is whortly! The best burgers ever, juicy and tender, perfect! And after the burger you can order a cupcake, so.. is something better than that? haha
